Reflections

Assignment 9 Requires students to reflect on their learning here at the Understanding the Holocaust Sim.  Many students responses are really enlightening and powerful.

Please take a read at just two:

 Corally- During the time that I learned about the Holocaust, I found out that nothing about it was good or even happy except for the Jews that were able to either live through the Holocaust or were able to escape. Even then though, none of the,m wnted to remember it because it was so horrible. I probably wouldn't want to remember either. If America had joined the Allied forces sooner, then perhaps many more Jews and people would have been saved. But we were ignorant of the invasion and did nothing about it even when we found out.  Even after we found out, we did nothing for several years. When we did join the Allies,it was pretty much too late.  

 Matthew- During this project, I have learned alot about Anne Frank and Nazi Germany. I did't know many of these things before this project. I liked using the Islands of Enlightenment because it was a fun interactive way to learn and get work done. It helped me to realize the terror that Jewish people faced during the Holocaust. The Franks were cramped into a tiny apartment and had a bad diet. Overall, I'm glad I was able to use the Islands of Enlightenment to learn about Anne Frank's life.
